Grade IV Wins Glasgowlands

Both bands had a successful day at EUSPBA championship held at the Glasgowlands Scottish festival.  The Grade 4 band took 1st place out of field of 11 bands.  The Grade 2 competed but was unopposed in grade 2.

Both bands marched off together after massed bands, with a combined total 30 pipers.

The Stuart Grade 2 band competed in a Grade 1 contest at Bonnie Brae on June 5th, coming in 3rd place out of 3.

Grade IV wins Round Hill

Grade IV took first prize at the Round Hill Highland Games yesterday.  Amidst a tough field of seven bands, the Stuarts were awarded two firsts and and second in piping, a second in drumming, and a first in ensemble.  Judges noted that the Quick March Medley was lively, musical, and enjoyable.

Grade IV wins Rhode Island Scottish Highland Festival

The Stuart Highlanders Grade IV band took home first prize at the 2010 Rhode Island Scottish Festival in Richmond, Rhode Island.  Playing their medley, the Stuarts took firsts across the board in piping and drumming, with a 2nd from the ensemble judge.  This is a great kickoff to the 2010 season. Grade IV' s next appearance will be at  Round Hill on July 3rd, playing the Quick March Medley.

Additionally, the grade 2 band has voted to attend Bonnie Brae, which takes place June 5th at Liberty Corner, NJ.

The Stuart Highlanders kicked off the 2010 season on April 10, 2010.  Thank you to the competitors and organizers of this event.

 Some Results:

  •  Grade 2 Band - (Playing against Oran Mor in a Grade 1/2  challenge):  1st in the MSR, 2nd in the Medley. Congratulations to Oran Mor on their first place Medley performance.
  •  Grade 4 Band - 2nd place. Congratulations to Catamount Pipe Band for the win.
  •  Grade 2 piper Kirk Brunson: piper of the day in grade 2.
