On September 5th 2009, Stuart Highlanders (both bands) competed at the Capital District Highland Games, which is also considered the Eastern US championship.

The Grade 3 band competed twice - one 'official' contest in Grade 3 medley, and one open challenge MSR, in which we got a chance to compete against Oran Mor, a grade 1 band.  The grade 3 band took first place in the medley and second place in the challenge MSR.

 The grade 4 band took a second place, our congratulation go to Schenectady Pipe Band for their 1st place showing in Grade 4.
